Dan Herr

Dan spent over a decade at Serent Capital, where he led the firm's education practice and partnered with founders of K12 software and services companies including Illuminate Education, KEV Group, Study Island, ParentSquare, Education Advanced, USATestPrep, FamilyID, and ArbiterSports.

Outside of investing, Dan has coached youth basketball, served as a substitute teacher in local public schools, and is a parent of school-aged children. The classroom is not an abstraction for him.

He started Tahoe Education Partners to do the kind of investing he believed founders actually wanted: patient, education-native, and built around outcomes that matter beyond a fund cycle.

Chris Kinner

Chris brings a commercial strategy and M&A operator's lens to the partnership. He has spent his career advising and operating inside companies navigating growth inflection points, with a particular focus on services-led businesses.

He studied cognitive neuroscience at Harvard and remains a serious student of how humans actually learn — a perspective that informs how he evaluates products, teams, and the long arc of an education business.

Chris partners with founders on the strategic questions that decide the next chapter: pricing, sales motion, org design, and the rare M&A move that genuinely creates value.
